A little while ago Kevin left a promising career in finance to pursue his dream of working in the conservation field, and with the creatures he loves most - insects. Just 6 months after leaving his finance job and a little luck, he was working at an ant lab in South Africa. After a year of working in Africa, he was accepted to a graduate program in Conservation Biology focusing on insect conservation. This led to a job in the entomology department of the California Academy of Sciences, a K-12 Science Education Teaching Fellowship and a scientific publication.
While on his journey, Kevin learned about insect farming and how the sustainable use of certain insect species can play an important role in rainforest conservation. If done in the right way, insect farming allows populations to make a living off of the rainforest, while at the same time giving a powerful incentive to protect it. Kevin combines professional museum experience, knowledge of conservation and a love of insects into every product.
Kevin holds a BS in Psychology from Boston College and a Master of Biology from San Francisco State University. He lives in San Francisco with his wife, dog and son -- named after an ant entomologist.
